Logjam Electronics is a family owned and operated on-line business started in 1997 as a local sound contractor and car audio installation business in the mid-West. In the last several years, Logjam Electronics has evolved into one of the premier on-line retailers of car audio interfaces and adapters on the internet. "We didn't start out to be a specialist in interfaces and adapters." says Jim Surface, President and owner of Logjam Electronics, who bought into the business in 2001 and became sole owner of the business at the end of 2004. "However, through hard work and a little good fortune, Logjam Electronics has evolved into an on-line retailer firmly focused on the adapter and interface products." Logjam Electronics went on-line in late 1999 with a rudimentary website that contained an assortment of after market headunits, some CD changers, a few speaker pairs, an amp or two, some remote starters and car alarms, an under car neon kit and a couple of new devices called CD changer interfaces. From those humble beginnings, the Logjam Electronics product offering has grown from less than 25 products in 1999 to well over 500 in 2008, with an expanded web site full of product descriptions and application data designed to help even the most novice of car audio enthusiast to be able to select the product they need for their vehicle. "In the early days, it was all about CD changer interfaces, as the push back then was to install a multi-disc CD changer into your vehicle, allowing you to have access to more of your pre-recorded music when you were in your vehicle. Now, with the introduction of MP3 players, the iPOD®, the Zune™ player, portable DVD players, satellite radio, the audio and video interface business has exploded into products that did not even exist just a few years ago." In 2005, we started the LogjamForum as a way to have 24/7 access to product questions and answers, and installation information directly from our customers who have installed the product they purchased from Logjam Electronics.
