The BMW/MLink V.1DDSP is one of the new iPod® interfaces that perfectly bridges the gap between the simplicity of an auxiliary input converter and sophistication of vehicle-specific, line level matching and iPod charging that comes with an iPod bottom-connector interface, all at an extremely affordable price point. It is also an Alpine CD changer interface as well and is designed to work with BMW's DSP audio option.

The new Blitzsafe iPod interface connects through the bottom connector of the iPod to insure that the audio you hear is the cleanest possible from your iPod and the Blitzsafe vehicle-specific interface insures that the line level out of the iPod perfectly matches the input level requirements of your specific factory radio. While your iPod is connected, it is being charged and will continue to charge for 20 minutes after the car is turned off. This unique designs insures the iPod is never over-charged and that your battery is never under a constant drain. In addition to the iPod interface, Blitzsafe has also added an Alpine CD changer interface that will allow you have an Alpine 6-disc CD changer installed as well as your iPod. Pressing the "Up Disc >>" and the "Down Disc <<" buttons switches between the CD Changer and the iPod. This dual interface will work with or without a CD Changer connected.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The Blitzsafe iPod interface does NOT control nor display information from the iPod on the factory radio. All control and display of the iPod remains with the iPod.

Installation is easy as this device connects to the 3-pin and the small coaxial CD changer connectors in the rear of the vehicles with the DSP audio option.

Important Warranty Notice: (09/08/08) - Blitzsafe warrants the iPod cable contained in this M-Link product, as well as their iPod replacement cable, which is sold separately, for a period of 30 days from purchase on materials, workmanship and useability. Logjam Electronics will continue to honor our 1 year warranty on all Blitzsafe M-Link products, including the cable, but will change our warranty on the replacement M-Link iPod cable down to 30 days.

Compatibility Information:

Compatible with the G3, G4, and G5 iPods, iPod mini, iPod nano, iPod Video, plus the 1st generation iPhone™. Note: The 3G & 3G/S iPhone, as well as the 2nd Generation iPod Touch, the iPod Classic and the new iPod nano 4th & 5th Generation will work with this interface but the devices will NOT charge when connected without the P.I.E. Works in the following vehicles with the DSP option:
   -1996-2004 3-Series (except '96 318ti)
   -1996-2003 5-Series with "Business" or "Professional" RDS radios
   -September 1998 thru 2001 7-Series
   -Production 9/95 to present M3
   -1997-2003 Z3 Roadsters
   -2000-2004 Z4

Will NOT work with the Alpine-made factory CD changer.

Not compatible on BMWs without DSP systems! If you do not have DSP, see the BMW/MLink V.1D.

Will work with or without a CD Changer connected

Compatible with most Alpine aftermarket 6-disc CD changers including the Alpine CHM-S630 6 Disc CD Changer as well as the Alpine CHA-S634 6 Disc MP3 CD Changer when used in conjunction with the ALP/Ai-M Interface Adapter.

Pressing the "Up Disc >>" and the "Down Disc <<" switches between the CD Changer and the Auxiliary input device.

INSTALLATION WARNING: Some BMWs are factory wired for a cellular phone. Except for wire location, the cell phone connector looks identical to the 3-pin power connector used for the CD changer and if connected, will damage your system. The CORRECT 3-pin connector for the CD changer has a BROWN wire (ground) in the #1 pin position. The INCORRECT 3-pin connector has the BROWN wire in the center or #2 position. Connecting the wrong 3-pin connector to the interface WILL damage the CD changer and interface and cause them to not work properly!
