The best interfaces sold on-line at Logjam ElectronicsThe Blitzsafe BMW/XM DMX CMD V.1D DSP is a dual purpose CD changer/XM Commander interface that allows you to power and direct connect your XM Commander into most 1996 through 2004 BMW vehicles with DSP (see specific application list below), and at the same time, allows you to connect most Alpine 6 disc CD changers to your BMW Becker or Alpine factory radio through the pre-wired factory cable located in the trunk. The XM Commander connects through the fused, three-wire power connector and the left and right RCA audio inputs of the interface.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This device does NOT allow your factory radio to control the XM Commander. You will still need the XM Commander's display and control unit to be connected.

  • This adapter is NOT compatible with the 1997 7-Series BMW.
  • Does NOT work with the Alpine-made BMW factory CD changer.
  • Compatible with most Alpine 6-disc CD changers including the Alpine CHM-S630 6 Disc CD Changer as well as the Alpine CHA-S634 6 Disc MP3 CD Changer when used in conjunction with the ALP/Ai-M Interface Adapter.

    INSTALLATION WARNING: Some BMWs are factory wired for a cellular phone. Except for wire location, the cell phone connector looks identical to the 3-pin power connector used for the CD changer and if connected, will damage your system. The CORRECT 3-pin connector for the CD changer has a BROWN wire (ground) in the #1 pin position. The INCORRECT 3-pin connector has the BROWN wire in the center or #2 position. Connecting the wrong 3-pin connector to the interface WILL damage the CD changer and interface and cause them to not work properly!
