The best interfaces sold on-line at Logjam ElectronicsThe Blitzsafe BMW/XM DMX CMD V.1 DSP is an XM Commander interface that allows you to power and direct connect your XM Commander into most 1996 through 2004 BMW vehicles with DSP (see specific application list below).

The interface connects through the two CD changer connectors in the rear of the vehicle. One connector is a 3-pin small rectangular connector while the other is a small single-pin coaxial-type connector.

The XM Commander connects through the fused, three-wire power connector and the left and right RCA audio inputs of the interface, allowing easy connection of both the interface and the XM commander.

IMPORTANT APPLICATION NOTES:

  • This device does NOT allow your factory radio to control the XM Commander. You will still need the XM Commander's display and control unit to be connected.
  • This adapter is NOT compatible with the 1997 7-Series BMW.
  • Does NOT work with the Alpine-made BMW factory CD changer. If factory CD changer is installed, it MUST be disconnected.

    INSTALLATION WARNING: Some BMWs are factory wired for a cellular phone. Except for wire location, the cell phone connector looks identical to the 3-pin power connector used for the CD changer and if connected, will damage your system. The CORRECT 3-pin connector for the CD changer has a BROWN wire (ground) in the #1 pin position. The INCORRECT 3-pin connector has the BROWN wire in the center or #2 position. Connecting the wrong 3-pin connector to the interface WILL damage the interface and cause it to not work properly!
