Installation is simple as this auxiliary input converter will connect to an empty 14-pin connector, shown at right, that is located on the back of the factory radio using the vehicle specific cable that comes with the interface. (Click on image to see full photo of the rear of the radio). Your vehicle’s factory radio MUST have an empty 14-pin connector to be compatible, and here's why.

In several model years of Acura and Honda vehicles, three different types of radios were used that from the front, look exactly the same. Many do have the unused 14-pin connector at the rear of the radio and also have the in-dash 6-disc CD changer or the single disc CD player. Some have the 14-pin connector at the rear of the radio but it is used by the 6-disc in-dash CD changer. Still others have no 14-pin connector at all at the rear of the radio, because the in-dash CD changer is connected internally and the 14-pin connector was never installed.

With this device installed, you will have created an auxiliary audio input to your factory radio, which will now allow you to plug in any external audio source, like the audio from a portable MP3 player, satellite tuner, DVD player, or iPod, into the left & right RCA-type connectors (shown at left), and play the audio from that external audio device directly through your factory radio. This is a direct-connect device and NOT an FM Modulator. An FM modulator requires you to tune to an FM radio station in order to listen to the audio from the external audio device. This device does not work like that.

Please Note: This is a direct-connect audio-only auxiliary input converter, and does not allow you to control the external audio device that is connected to it.
