INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Product Description:
The CPBMW36AUX3.5 auxiliary input converter connects to the 3-pin and 6-pin CD changer connectors found in many 1996-2008 BMW, BMW Motorcycles and Mini Cooper vehicles (Please see Specific Vehicle Application List above), and is designed to allow you to connect to any audio device directly through that audio device's earphone jack and play that audio through your factory radio, providing you with digital quality sound from your iPod, Zune, MP3 player, any audio device that has an earphone jack output.

Installation is simple as this interface connects to your factory radio by plugging the two CD changer connectors, one a small, rectangular 3-pin connector, and the other a small, square 6-pin connector, shown at right, into the corresponding 3-pin and 6-pin connectors on the interface box, shown at left. The BMW CD changer connectors will be located in the vehicle, wherever the factory has chosen to locate the factory CD changer in the model of BMW/Mini Cooper you have.
Typically, the CD changer connectors will be located the trunk, but could also be in the glove box, center console or under a seat. Included in this kit is a 12ft long set of pro quality RCA patch cables, allowing you to mount the interface box in the trunk where the CD changer connectors are, but have cable lengths long enough to run the cables up into the passenger compartment where you will locate and operate the audio device.
This is a direct-connect device and NOT an FM Modulator. An FM modulator requires you to tune to an FM radio station in order to listen to the audio from the external audio device. This device does not work like that.
