Product Description:
The CPGM12AUXZN Zune interface kit connects to the rear of the factory radio of many 2003-2007 GM vehicles with built in external CD changer capabilities (Please see Specific Vehicle Application List above), and is designed to allow you to connect your Zune directly into the factory radio, providing you with digital quality sound from your Zune. This Zune interface will also charge the Zune while connected, plus keeps the Zune controls unlocked, allowing control directly from the Zune itself.
Installation is simple as this Zune Interface kit connects to the 12-pin connector, shown at right, that is located on the back of the factory radio, using the vehicle specific cable that comes with the interface (Click on image to see larger photo of the rear of the radio). You then connect the black ground wire from the Zune interconnect cable and the black wire from the interface wiring harness to chassis ground, then connect the red wire of the Zune interconnect cable to a 12V switched source, and connect the yellow wire from the interface wiring harness to a 12V constant source and you’re done!
Depending on what factory options your vehicle has, there could already be a factory wiring harness plugged into the 9-pin radio connector. The wiring harness that comes with this interface device is designed with a 'Y' connector that allows you to reconnect the factory wiring harness, if so equipped, once the interface is installed, keeping all existing factory options functional. If there is no factory wiring harness plugged into the 9-pin connector, the 9-pin 'Y' harness will remain empty after installation.
