Acura/Honda Radio Removal Instructions
Installations Instructions
Product Description:
The CPHONAUX3.5 connects to the 14-pin connector that is located at the factory radio in many 2003-2011 Acura/Honda vehicles (Please see Specific Vehicle Application List above for exact year & model coverage), creating an external auxiliary 3.5mm earphone-type input that you can use to connect to the earphone jack of any external audio source, like the audio from an MP3 player, a portable DVD player, computer, video game, any audio device that has a standard 3.5mm earphone jack.
Installation is simple as this interface connects to a 14-pin connector, shown at right, at the rear or the bottom of the factory radio (depending on which radio you have in your vehicle) using the vehicle-specific cable that comes with the interface (Click on image to see a larger photo of the connector on a Honda radio).
Depending on what factory options your vehicle has, there could already be a factory wiring harness plugged into the 14-pin radio connector. The wiring harness that comes with this interface device is designed with a 'Y' connector that allows you to reconnect the factory wiring harness, if a factory wiring harness is there, once the Acura/Honda interface is installed, keeping all existing factory options functional. If there is no factory wiring harness plugged into the 14-pin connector, the female end of the 14-pin 'Y' harness that comes with the interface will remain empty after installation.

Once this device is installed, you will have created an auxiliary audio input into your factory radio. This aux input has both a 3.5mm earphone-type plug plus left & right RCA-type connectors (both shown at left). Having both types of audio connectors will provide universal connectivity for any type of connection you’ll need. This will allow you to connect any external audio source using the supplied connectors and play the audio from that external audio source directly through your factory radio speakers. This is NOT an FM Modulator or a cassette adapter but a direct connection into your factory radio. Therefore, you will get the highest digital quality audio possible without noise, FM bleadthrough or cassette ‘hiss’.
Please Note: This is a direct connect audio-only auxiliary input converter, and does not allow you to control the external audio device that is connected to it.
