   The OS-2BOSE is a plug and play interface that allows replacement of a GM Class 2 factory radio and maintain operation of the OnStar® system and Bose® amplifier in select 2001-2005 GM vehicles (see list below for specific applications). The OS-2BOSE has on-board switching to allow audio from the OnStar® system to play through the two front factory speakers whenever OnStar® is active, and mute the new aftermarket replacement radio. The OS-2BOSE provides an accessory turn on lead and retains the factory "Retained Accessory Power" (RAP) feature. To retain warning chimes on selected applications* (see ordering information below), the CM1 must be used. Use the OS-2BOSE on Bose-equipped systems. For GM vehicles without Bose Systems, see the OS-2. IMPORTANT APPLICATION NOTES:
The OS-2BOSE does NOT allow you to retain the factory XM receiver, the rear seat controls/headphones nor the rear seat DVD if these options are installed. You will lose these options once the factory radio is replaced with an after market radio.
1 These vehicles in the Application List below have the premium Bose® amplifier that only accepts 2 channel audio inputs. The aftermarket headunit will NOT 'fade'. However, it will still continue to 'alance'. OnStar® volume can be controlled via the steering wheel audio controls. The CM1 chime module is not required when using the Bose® amplifier. If you are not using the Bose® amplifier, then use the OS2 and the CM1 interfaces.
