Product Description:
The CHRY04-AUX/S Auxiliary Input Converter plugs into to the Satellite Tuner/Rear Seat Entertainment (RSE) connector located on the back of the factory radio in many 2005-2007 Chrysler-made vehicles (Please see Specific Vehicle Application List above) that do not have the factory satellite radio option installed, to create an external auxiliary input that you can then use to connect the audio from any external audio source, like the audio from an MP3 player, a portable DVD player, computer, video game, any audio device that has an audio output connector.

Installation is simple, as the interface plugs into the 10-pin connector at the rear of your factory radio, shown in the image at right (click image for larger photo), using the vehicle specific cable that comes with the interface. Then simply plug the iPod into the provided iPOD dock cable and enjoy your iPod music library. By using the Satellite/RSE port on the factory radio, the CHRY04-AUX/S is designed to emulate the factory RSE function, keeping the factory Sirius satellite radio functional and will not require you to disconnect it. Compatible with vehicles equipped with factory satellite RAK, RAQ, or REC radios.

The CHRY04-AUX/S has a built-in audio level adjustment with an input sensitivity range of 0.475 volts to 4.75 volts (peak to peak) allowing the installer to match the audio level of the AUX device to the audio level of the AM, FM, CD or Satellite modes of the factory radio. Not compatible if the vehicle is equipped with the 'REF' radio or factory Rear Seat Entertainment (RSE) system.

With this device installed, you will have created an auxiliary audio input to your factory radio, which will now allow you to plug in any external audio source, like the audio from a portable MP3 player, satellite tuner, DVD player, or iPOD, into the left & right RCA-type connectors (shown at left), and play the audio from that external audio device directly through your factory radio. This is a direct-connect device and NOT an FM Modulator. An FM modulator requires you to tune to an FM radio station in order to listen to the audio from the external audio device. This device does not work like that.
