Product Description:
The CHRY04-AUX adapter connects to the Satellite/Rear Seat Entertainment (RSE) connector at the rear of the factory radio of many Dodge, Chrysler and Jeep factory radios (Please see Specific Vehicle Application List above) that do not have the factory rear seat entertainment option installed, to create an external auxiliary input that you can then use to connect the audio from any external audio source, like the audio from an MP3 player, a portable DVD player, computer, video game, any audio device that has an audio output connector.

The CHRY04-AUX plugs into the 10-pin square connector at the rear of the factory radio, as shown in the image to right, and is compatible with all vehicles listed below that have the 10-pin square connector and is a CD changer controlling radio. (Click on image to see rear of radio)

With this device installed, you will have created an auxiliary audio input to your factory radio, which will now allow you to plug in any external audio source, like the audio from a portable MP3 player, satellite tuner, DVD player, or iPod, into the left & right RCA-type connectors (shown at left), and play the audio from that external audio device directly through your factory radio. This is a direct-connect device and NOT an FM Modulator. An FM modulator requires you to tune to an FM radio station in order to listen to the audio from the external audio device. This device does not work like that.

The CHRY04-AUX has a built-in audio level adjustment with an input sensitivity range of 0.475 volts to 4.75 volts (peak to peak) allowing the installer to match the audio level of the AUX device to the audio level of the AM, FM, CD or Satellite modes of the factory radio. Not compatible if the vehicle is equipped with the 'REF' radio or factory satellite radio system.
