The CHRY04-AUX adapter connects to the Satellite/Rear Seat Entertainment (RSE) connector at the rear of the factory radio of many Dodge, Chrysler and Jeep factory radios (Please see Specific Vehicle Application List below) that do not have the factory rear seat entertainment option installed, to create an external auxiliary input that you can then use to connect the audio from any external audio source, like the audio from an MP3 player, a portable DVD player, computer, video game, any audio device that has an audio output connector.

Installation is simple, as the interface plugs into the 10-pin connector at the rear of your factory radio, shown in the image at right (click image for larger photo), using the vehicle specific cable that comes with the interface. Then simply plug the iPOD into the provided iPOD dock cable and enjoy your iPOD music library. By using the Satellite/RSE port on the factory radio, the CHRY04-AUX is designed to emulate the factory satellite tuner, keeping the factory RSE option functional and will not require you to disconnect it. Compatible with vehicles equipped with factory RAK, RAQ, or REC radios.

The CHRY04-AUX has a built-in audio level adjustment with an input sensitivity range of 0.475 volts to 4.75 volts (peak to peak) allowing the installer to match the audio level of the AUX device to the audio level of the AM, FM, CD or Satellite modes of the factory radio. Not compatible if the vehicle is equipped with the 'REF' radio or factory satellite radio system.

With this device installed, you will have created an auxiliary audio input to your factory radio, which will now allow you to plug in any external audio source, like the audio from a portable MP3 player, satellite tuner, DVD player, or iPOD, into the left & right RCA-type connectors (shown at left), and play the audio from that external audio device directly through your factory radio. This is a direct-connect device and NOT an FM Modulator. An FM modulator requires you to tune to an FM radio station in order to listen to the audio from the external audio device. This device does not work like that.

Comes complete with all cables and connectors to connect this device to your vehicle. See "Additional Add-on Items", shown below, for any additional cables or connectors you might need to connect your audio device to the RCA-type connectors on this interface.

Please Note: This is a direct-connect audio-only auxiliary input converter, and does not allow you to control the external audio device that is connected to it.
