Ford Radio Removal Instructions
Product Description:
The FRDW-AUX Auxiliary Input Converter connects to the pre-wired CD changer cable of any Ford vehicle that is pre-wired for an external CD changer to be installed, but does not have the factory CD changer. Typically, the CD changer data cable can be found under a seat, or in the glove box or in the center console, or sometimes in the rear of the vehicle, anywhere that the factory CD changer would be installed.
With this device installed, you will have created an auxiliary audio input to your factory radio, which will now allow you to plug in any external audio source, like the audio from a portable MP3 player, satellite tuner, DVD player, or iPod, into the left & right RCA-type connectors (shown at left), and play the audio from that external audio device directly through your factory radio. This is a direct-connect device and NOT an FM Modulator. An FM modulator requires you to tune to an FM radio station in order to listen to the audio from the external audio device. This device does not work like that.
Comes complete with all cables and connectors necessary to connect this interface device to your vehicle. Please see "Additional Add-on Items", shown below, for any additional cables or connectors you might need to connect your specific audio device to the RCA-type connectors on this interface.
Please Note: This is a direct-connect audio-only auxiliary input converter, and does not allow you to control the external audio device that is connected to it.
