The GM12-AUXV2 Auxiliary Input Converter connects to the CD changer connector at the rear of the factory radio in many 2000 through 2009 GM factory radios (Please see Specific Vehicle Application List below), to create an external auxiliary input that you can then use to connect the audio from any external audio source, like the audio from an MP3 player, a portable DVD player, computer, video game, any audio device that has an audio output connector.

Logjam Electronics....Connecting You to your Music! Installation is simple as this auxiliary input converter connects to the 12-pin connector, shown at right, that is located on the back of the factory radio, using the vehicle specific cable that comes with the interface (Click on image to see larger photo of the rear of the radio). You then connect the black wire from the interface wiring harness to chassis ground and the yellow wire to a 12V constant source and you’re done!

Depending on what factory options your vehicle has, there could already be a factory wiring harness plugged into the 12-pin radio connector. The wiring harness that comes with this interface device is designed with a 'Y' connector that allows you to reconnect the factory wiring harness, if so equipped, once the interface is installed, keeping all existing factory options functional. If there is no factory wiring harness plugged into the 12-pin connector, the 12-pin 'Y' harness will remain empty after installation.

Logjam Electronics....Connecting You to your Music!With this device installed, you will have created an auxiliary audio input to your factory radio, which will now allow you to plug in any external audio source, like the audio from a portable MP3 player, satellite tuner, DVD player, or iPod, into the left & right RCA-type connectors (shown at left), and play the audio from that external audio device directly through your factory radio. This is a direct-connect device and NOT an FM Modulator. An FM modulator requires you to tune to an FM radio station in order to listen to the audio from the external audio device. This device does not work like that.

Comes complete with all cables and connectors to connect the interface to your vehicle.

Please Note: This is a direct-connect audio-only auxiliary input converter, and does not allow you to control the external audio device that is connected to it.

Compatibility Information:

  • The installation will be flawless IF you take your time making all the connections as detailed in the installation instructions packed with the device. Following the installation sequence is critical to ensure the proper recognition of the GM12-AUXV2 by the factory radio.
  • Works in vehicles with a "BAND" button
  • Will also work in vehicles with just a "CD/AUX" button
  • Works with radios that have the navigation option
  • Works with radios that have the 6-disc in-dash CD changer option except where noted
  • Works with vehicles equipped with the factory DVD player
  • Works with vehicles equipped with either the factory XM tuner, or the externally-mounted (not the in-dash CD changer) factory CD changer, but not vehicles with both options.
  • NOT compatible in 2005 and up vehicles with both factory XM and externally mounted (not in-dash) factory CD changer installed
