  
 The PIE HON03/PC-SON is a interface that allows you to either add a Sony CD changer the the factory radio, or, the device can be used as an auxiliary input converter, adding an external audio input connection to the many 2003-2008 Acura and Honda factory radios ((Please see Specific Vehicle Application List below).
 Installation is simple as this interface connects to the 14-pin connector, shown at right, at the rear of the factory radio using the vehicle specific cable that comes with the interface (Click on image to see a larger photo of the rear of the radio).
Depending on what factory options your vehicle has, there could already be a factory wiring harness plugged into the 14-pin radio connector. If that is the case, your vehicle either has the factory navigation option installed, or you have the factory XM option installed, or both.
If you have the factory navigation option but not the XM option, to keep the nav option functional, you will also need to purchase the HON03-F/MM 'Y' adapter cable (see ordering information below), The reason is that the nav option uses several wires in the 14-pin connector and the HON03-F/MM 'Y' adapter allows the appropriate nav option wires to pass through the interface on to the nav option, keeping it functional.
If you have the factory XM option but not the nav option, you do NOT need the HON03-F/MM adapter cable, but you WILL need to disconnect the factory XM tuner by disconnecting the factory 14-pin wiring harness that is already connected to the 14-pin connector at the rear of the radio and leaving it disconnected when you install the HON03/PC-SON interface.
If you have both the XM and the nav options, you will still need to purchase the HON03-F/MM 'Y' adapter cable (see ordering information below), AND you will need to disconnect the XM tuner wiring harness at the XM tuner location (usually located behind a panel in the passenger-side trunk area).
 With this device installed, you will have created an auxiliary audio input to your factory radio, which will allow you to plug in any external audio source, like the audio from a portable MP3 player, satellite tuner, DVD player, or iPod, into the left & right RCA-type connectors (shown at left), and play the audio from that external audio device directly through your factory radio. This is a direct connect device and NOT an FM Modulator. An FM modulator requires you to tune to an FM radio station in order to listen to the audio from the external audio device.
The HON03/PC-SON can also be used as a Sony CD Changer interface if no Aux source is installed. It is compatible with CDX-T68, CDX-T69, CDX-T70MX and CDX-757MX Sony Uni-Link CD changers.
Comes complete with all cables and connectors to connect this interface to your vehicle. See "Additional Add-on Items", shown below, for any additional cables or connectors you might need to connect your audio device to the RCA-type connectors on this interface.
Please Note: When used as an auxiliary input converter, the device is an audio-only connection, and does not allow you to control the external audio device that is connected to it. When it is being used as a CD changer interface, you will be able to control the Sony CD changer from the factory radio.
Additional Add-on Items You May Need to Complete Installation:
If you need more than one audio input, you can convert the single auxiliary input of this device into three auxiliary inputs by adding the AUX3.
If you are wanting to connect a Zune™ player with this interface, you can connect directly to the bottom connector of the Zune by adding the SoundGate ZNCBLPAK CORE™ Cable pack.
If you are wanting to connect an iPOD™ with this interface, you can connect directly to the bottom connector of the iPOD by adding the SoundGate PDCBLPAK CORE™ Cable pack. (Provides 5V charging for all new iPODs and iPhones, including the 3G)
If you are wanting to connect to the earphone jack of your audio device, you can convert the RCA inputs on this interface to a 3.5mm input by adding the PIE 3.5-RCA6MM Interface.
If you are using this interface to connect the audio from any MP3 player, cell phone or GPS nav device, and you want to mount your personal mobile device safely and securely to the dash of your vehicle without drilling any holes, you can add the SoundGate M2 universal mobile device. Great for leased vehicles, company cars and rental cars and vehicles.
