The HON03-POD/S iPOD interface that works without requiring you to disable the Honda factory XM! The HON03-POD/S allows you to install any iPOD directly to the factory radio in many 2003-2008 Honda vehicles (see Specific Vehicle Application List below). The HON03-POD/S gives you digital quality sound, charges your iPOD, gives you control of the iPOD from the factory radio and steering wheel controls, if your vehicle is so equipped, and comes complete with everything you need to install. It also provides an additional auxiliary input so that, in addition to adding your iPOD to your vehicle, you can also add the audio from any other auxiliary audio source, like a satellite radio, portable DVD or another MP3 player.

When installed, the HON03-POD/S allows you to retain the Honda XM satellite radio (if present). The device allows text display from the iPOD, will charge the iPOD while connected and also gives you the option of controlling your iPOD either through the factory radio or controlling the iPOD with the iPOD itself, letting you use your iPOD the way YOU want to! The latest upgrade of the device now allows for 5V USB charging so it is compatible with all new iPODs and the 3G & 3G/S iPhone.

The HON03-POD/S connects to the 14-pin connector at the rear of the factory radio, shown in image at right (Click on image for larger photo). Depending on whether your radio has the factory XM or factory Navigation, the radio 14-pin plug may or may not already have a factory wiring harness plugged into it. The HON03-POD/S comes with a 'Y' cable that allows for the factory wiring harness to be reconnected if so equipped.

You will control the iPOD by using the factory radio’s ability to control a satellite tuner. Other features of the iPOD interface are:

  • Charges the iPod then connected.
  • Also adds an additional auxiliary input that can be used for another audio device.
  • Can navigate through the iPOD by artist, album, playlist, or genre, and will display the mode, the Artist name and the Song title 16 characters at a time.

    The image on the left is an example of how the 16-character display works on non-navigational radios, this one from an Accord, placed into 'Genre' mode. The images shows the display as it cycles through the Genre (Ballad), then the Artist's name (Pattie Labelle), then the song title (On My Own), and then back to the Genre, and so on. Artist's names and song titles that are longer than 16 characters are truncated.

    Comes complete with all cables and connectors necessary to connect this interface to your vehicle, and your iPOD to this interface.

    Compatibility Information:

  • Compatible with G3, G4, and G5 iPODs, iPOD Classic, iPOD mini, iPOD nano, iPOD Video, iPOD Touch, plus the 1G, 3G & 3G/S iPhone. If you’re not sure which iPOD you have, click HERE.
  • Works with or without the 6 disc in-dash CD changer and does NOT disable the 6-disc changer unless noted otherwise.
  • Will NOT work with the factory navigation option.
  • Factory Radio MUST be Honda XM-ready factory radio. Radios that are XM-ready will have either "XM" imprinted on the 'CD/AUX' button or will have a separate 'SAT' button.
  • Works with or without the factory XM radio option and does NOT disable it if so equipped.
