Acura/Honda Radio Removal Instructions
Product Description:
The HON-AUX is an auxiliary input converter designed to connect to the CD changer data port at the rear of the factory radio of many 1992-2001 Acura and Honda vehicles (Please see Specific Vehicle Application List above), and will create an external auxiliary input in your factory radio.
The HON-AUX connects to the 8-pin round DIN-type connector at the rear of the factory radio, as shown in the image at right (Click on image to see larger rear-view of radio). Connector location will vary from radio to radio in the various vehicle models and years, as many different radios styles were used in the Acura and Honda vehicle models during this time frame. However, all will have the same 8-pin round DIN-type connector.
With this device installed, you will have created an auxiliary audio input to your factory radio, which will allow you to plug in any external audio source, like the audio from a portable MP3 player, satellite tuner, DVD player, or iPod, into the left & right RCA-type connectors (shown at left), and play the audio from that external audio device directly through your factory radio. This is a direct connect device and NOT an FM Modulator. An FM modulator requires you to tune to an FM radio station in order to listen to the audio from the external audio device.
Comes complete with all cables and connectors to connect this interface to your vehicle. See "Additional Add-on Items", shown below, for any additional cables or connectors you might need to connect your audio device to the RCA-type connectors on this interface.
Please Note: This is a direct connect audio-only auxiliary input converter, and does not allow you to control the external audio device that is connected to it.
