  
The TOY03-AUX Auxiliary Input Converter connects to the data port at the rear of the factory radio in many 2003-2010 Toyota and Scion vehicles (Please see Specific Vehicle Application List below for exact model and year coverage), to create an external auxiliary input that you can then use to connect the audio from any external audio source, like the audio from an MP3 player, a portable DVD player, computer, video game, any audio device that has an audio output connector.
 This auxiliary input converter connects to the 12-pin connector that is located on the back of the factory radio, shown in the image at right. Depending on what factory options your vehicle has, there could already be a factory wiring harness plugged into the 12-pin radio connector. The wiring harness that comes with the TOY03-AUX is designed with a 'Y' connector that allows you to reconnect the factory wiring harness, if so equipped, once the TOY03-AUX interface is installed, keeping all existing factory options functional.
 With this device installed, you will have created an auxiliary audio input to your factory radio, which will now allow you to plug in any external audio source, like the audio from a portable MP3 player, satellite tuner, DVD player, or iPOD, into the left & right RCA-type connectors (shown at left), and play the audio from that external audio device directly through your factory radio. This is a direct-connect device and NOT an FM Modulator. An FM modulator requires you to tune to an FM radio station in order to listen to the audio from the external audio device. This device does not work like that.
IMPORTANT APPLICATION INFORMATION:
If present, the rear seat audio controls are not affected by the installation of this adapter, however, you will NOT be able to access nor hear the auxiliary input device from the rear seat audio controls and headphone jacks.
NOT compatible with the 2003-2004 Matrix or 2003-2007 Prius
NOT compatible with vehicles that have the factory navigation radio or Rear Seat Entertainment system.
IS compatible with the factory single-disc or 6-disc in-dash CD changer.
NOT compatible if equipped with factory XM, externally-mounted factory CD changer or with the factory DVD changer.
NOT compatible with factory radios that have a 'SAT' button (For satellite-ready factory radios with the 'SAT' button, see TOY03-AUX/S)
