Product Description:
The VW-AUX Auxiliary Input Converter will convert your factory radio's CD changer cable into an auxiliary input. Compatible with all models of 1998 - 2008 Volkswagen vehicles (See Specific Vehicle Application List above) equipped with a radio that has a "round" scan button and has the pre-wired factory 12-pin connector in the rear of the vehicle.
With this device installed, you will have created an auxiliary audio input to your factory radio, which will allow you to plug in any external audio source, like a portable MP3 player, satellite tuner, DVD player, or iPOD, and play the audio from that external audio device directly through your factory radio. This is a direct connect device and NOT an FM Modulator. An FM modulator requires you to tune to an FM radio station in order to listen to the audio from the external audio device. While this is a direct connect interface, it is only an audio connection and does not allow you to control the external audio device that is connected to it.
If your vehicle is not pre-wired for a CD changer in the rear of the vehicle, see VWR-AUX for single-DIN size radios, or VW02-AUX for Double-DIN sized radios.
