 Now you can add an Alpine CD changer to your 1998 through 2005 VW with the PIE VWR/PC-ALP CD Changer Interface. The VWR/PC-ALP is designed to plug directly into the 8-pin connector of the non-prewired factory cable located in the rear of your 1998 through 2005 VW factory radio, and will then connect to most of the Alpine 6 disc CD changers using the CD changer cable that comes with the Alpine CD changer. Factory radio must have the round "SCAN" button/knob for this interface to work. For VW: The VWR-AUX is NOT compatible with 2002.5-2005 double-DIN AM/FM/Cassette/CD factory radio (Premium 6) as the connector in the rear of the radio is different.For Audi: The VWR/PC-ALP is also compatible with all models of non-prewired 1998 - 2005 Audi with the 8-pin connector at the rear of the radio. Note: Audi vehicles equipped with the Symphony II headunit (6-disc in-dash CD changer will require the AA3-HAR connector to gain access to the 8-pin external CD changer port.
