 The TOYAUX4 Auxiliary Input Converter connects to the CD changer data port at the rear of the factory radio in many 1998-2010 Acura, Honda, Isuzu, Scion and Toyota vehicles (Please see Specific Vehicle Application List below for exact year and model coverage), to create an external auxiliary input that you can then use to connect the audio from any external audio source, like the audio from an MP3 player, a portable DVD player, computer, video game, any audio device that has an audio output connector. The one exclusive feature the TOYAUX4 has that no other Toyota aux input has, is being able to expand the aux in into a full iPOD or Zune player interface. By adding the CORE™ system package to your TOYAUX4, either the PDCBLPAK for the iPOD, or the ZNCBLPAK for the Zune player, you'll be able to control all your music through the factory radio or through the steering wheel controls, plus you'll be able to charge the iPOD or Zune, and the iPOD or Zune will pause when the radio is turned off. Therefore, if you only have enough money right now to buy just the aux in, make it the TOYAUX4, so you can add iPOD or Zune control later!
Depending on what factory options your vehicle has, there could already be a factory wiring harness plugged into the 12-pin radio connector. The wiring harness that comes with the TOYAUX4 is designed with a 'Y' connector that allows you to reconnect the factory wiring harness, if so equipped, once the TOYAUX4 interface is installed, keeping all existing factory options functional.

With this device installed, you will have created an auxiliary audio input to your factory radio, which will now allow you to plug in any external audio source, like the audio from a portable MP3 player, satellite tuner, DVD player, or iPOD, into the left & right RCA-type connectors (shown at left), and play the audio from that external audio device directly through your factory radio. This is a direct-connect device and NOT an FM Modulator. An FM modulator requires you to tune to an FM radio station in order to listen to the audio from the external audio device. This device does not work like that.
